If your question isn't here, call (385) 230-3176. I'd rather talk it through than have you take the fireplace apart.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a fireplace repair or tune-up cost?
Every fireplace is different, so I give quotes by phone. Call (385) 230-3176 and I'll walk you through it. We price match written local quotes.
How do I get started?
Call or send a quote request and I'll get back to you to talk it through and find a time that works.
What areas do you serve?
Utah County (Orem, Provo, Lehi, American Fork, Pleasant Grove, Vineyard, Eagle Mountain, Spanish Fork, Springville, Lindon, Saratoga Springs, Highland, Alpine, Cedar Hills, Mapleton, Payson, Salem, and surrounding areas), the Salt Lake area north to Bountiful, and Park City and Heber City.
My pilot won't stay lit. What can I check?
Check that the gas valve is on, and check the wall switch or remote batteries, then call. Don't take things apart.
How often should a gas fireplace be tuned up?
Once a year is a good rule, ideally in late summer or early fall before you start using it. Every tune-up includes:
- Remove and clean the glass
- Clean the logs
- Clean the main burner
- Clean the pilot assembly
- Clean under and above the firebox
- Check for gas leaks, loose wires, and other safety concerns
- Test the thermopile
- Add embers
- Make sure the logs are installed according to the manufacturer
I haven't used my fireplace in years. Is it safe?
Don't assume it is. Dust, insects in the pilot, dead batteries, and parts that haven't moved in a long time are common on a fireplace that sat. A safety check is how I make sure it's ready before the first fire of the season, including in a home you just moved into.
Can you add a blower to my fireplace?
A lot of gas fireplaces can. Send a photo of the lower compartment and I'll tell you if yours can take a blower, or if the one you have just needs to be replaced.
Do you work on wood-burning fireplaces or chimneys?
I work on gas fireplaces only, so I don't service wood-burning fireplaces or chimneys. For those, a local chimney sweep is the right call.
